Impact and Sustainability
At Bali Body, keeping our footprint on the environment as light as possible is something we genuinely care about.
There are many ways we can lighten that footprint — from how our products are made, to how your orders are packed, right through to how leftover materials are handled.
We’re proud to share the steps we’ve taken so far, and we’ll keep finding new ways to do better.
Product Packaging
Every bottle and tube that holds a Bali Body formula is recyclable. Our brand-new Bali Body Essentials personal care line comes in bottles made from 100% recycled — and fully recyclable — materials.
Manufacturing Processes
Here are just a few of the eco-friendly practices we rely on when making Bali Body products:
- All waste and leftover material is sorted on site into recyclable, cardboard or general waste.
- Any solid waste in water run-off is captured by an interceptor before it reaches the wastewater system, and that solid waste is then collected each month by a specialist contractor and disposed of responsibly.
- Liquid waste suitable for ‘grey water’ is pH balanced and brought to a safe temperature before it’s released.
- No harsh chemicals are used to clean equipment — instead we rely on high-pressure, high-temperature water.
- Every light in the manufacturing facility runs on a timer, so nothing stays on when it isn’t needed.
Our Standards
Single Use
Shipping Materials
To cut down on waste and single-use materials, we now pack your orders using recyclable materials only — cardboard cartons, kraft paper filler and paper shipping labels — so no single-use plastics are involved in getting your order to you.
Multi-location
Shipping
We use several distribution centres around the world to keep the carbon footprint of fulfilment as low as possible. With a hub in each major market, your order travels a much shorter distance — which means far fewer fossil fuels burned along the way.
Vegan and
Cruelty Free
Bali Body is proudly Leaping Bunny approved and 100% cruelty-free — we never test on animals at any stage of development. More than 98% of our range is fully vegan, the only exception being responsibly-sourced beeswax in one of our high-SPF sunscreens.
Philanthropy
Giving back to the community has been a core value for the team at Bali Body since the brand was founded in 2014.
Recently we’ve been able to donate over $400,000 worth of Essentials personal care products to charities around the world, including organisations across Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.
